Tangalooma Excursion for the EcoMarines
Earlier this term, 4 EcoMarines and Ms O'Reilly went to Tangalooma on Moreton Island for a training day! We learnt about how to save the environment. Firstly, we had to catch a ferry for 45 minutes to our destination.
For our first activity we did a sandcastle competition! But sadly, we lost to the winning team, the cassowaries. Afterwards we had a group photo with the EcoMarines from all over Brisbane.
We then did a variety of different activities and learnt about how to save the environment. Next, we had a delicious lunch. Later that afternoon we had some free time, and we all went for a swim. We then had to do a treasure hunt. When we finally finished, we had to perform a rap about gliders.
Finally, we watched a presentation on the different local dolphins. Eventually we got to feed the dolphins!!! it was scarier than we thought!! We also had to pick up a dead fish and slowly walk out, scooping our hands under the water carefully, then the dolphins came and gobbled the fish up! We had a great time even though feeding the dolphins was VERY scary!
We were very tired, considering we got back to school at 9:30pm!!
We would like to thank Ms O'Reilly for taking us.
