Prep 2021 Enrolment Information

The Prep Year is available to children of eligible age. Prep Year is full-time and compulsory. Children will need to be 5 by 30 June in the year they enrol in Preparatory Year. To determine if your child is eligible to enrol in prep please check the Education Queensland's Prep ready reckoner.

Delayed entry to Prep is an option which may be considered in specific circumstances and where it is in a child's best educational interests.


Albany Hills State School has an Enrolment Management Plan. Please read this document. 

In-catchment and sibling enrolments  

If your child’s principal place of residence is within our catchment area or they are a sibling of a current student please complete the enrolment forms and submit them to the school office as soon as possible. You are welcome to collect enrolment forms from our office or download them from our website, complete them and return them to our office with a copy of your child's birth certificate.

As per our School Enrolment Management Plan​, new families living within catchment need to provide current proof of residence by way of one of each of the following:

  • One primary source - a current rental/lease agreement or rates notice, or unconditional sale notice; and 
  • One secondary source – a utility bill (electricity, gas) showing this same address and parent’s/legal guardian’s name. 

Parents of students with siblings at Albany Hills State School and those living within catchment will be contacted around July/August 2020. This will be to make an appointment for you and your child to attend an interview with the Deputy Principal in August/September. 


​Out-of-catchment enrolments

If your child’s principal place of residence is NOT within our catchment area please complete enrolment forms and submit them to the school office in person as soon as possible to be placed on a waiting list. 
You are welcome to collect enrolment forms from our office or download them from our website, complete them and return them to our office with a copy of your child's birth certificate.
Parents will be contacted if a position becomes available.


Orientation Morning

An orientation morning will be be held in November 2020 for students enrolled for 2021. Please feel free to email or phone (07) 3264 0777 should you require any further information. If you cannot download the document/s linked from this page, please contact us and we will provide a copy via the school office.

No out of catchment enrolment enrolment application forms will be accepted before this time.

Parents will be contacted if a position becomes available.


Parent information sessions 

Parent information sessions for 2022 are planned for May 2021. Tours of the school will be available.
Parents are very welcome to bring children to our school for Under Eights’ Morning in 2021. Activities include music making, art activities, emergency service providers,  modified sports and an obstacle course. This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to get to know our great school. 
An orientation morning is planned for November 2021 for students enrolled for 2022.
