ANZAC Ceremonies

Albany Hills State School students, staff and community members gather to commemorate ANZAC Day each year.
Our ANZAC assembley for 2019 will be held on Wednesday 24 April, 2.00 pm in the AHSS auditorium. All welcome.
We are also invited to participate in the ANZAC day march at Kallangur with the Pine Rivers RSL Sub-Branch on ANZAC day.

**ANZAC DAY MARCH – Pine Rivers RSL Sub Branch**
On ANZAC Day, Thursday 25 April, students are invited to participate in the ANZAC Day March at Kallangur with the Pine Rivers RSL Sub Branch.
Details of the march are as follows:

7.45 am – All children assemble outside the Kallangur Fair Shopping Centre, 1473 Anzac Avenue Kallangur– in the car park of the Woolworths Supermarket. There is NO PARKING here.

8.00 am – Students and staff prepare for the march.

8.15 am – March commences for students and staff. Parents are to meet students at the designated collection area following the march.

8.45 – 9.00 am - March finishes – Please meet your child at our school’s designated area at Kallangur State School grounds. Please note this is a change from previous years. For safety reasons, this year students will be diverted off Anzac Avenue through Sylvan Court to the collection area at Kallangur State School.

Important information:
• All children must be in school uniform (including correct shoes and socks).
• School hats must also be worn.
• Please bring a water bottle.
• Children are encouraged to wear medals of relatives during the march.
• Due to the large number of schools marching, organisers have instructed that parents will be unable to march with students.

Students are reminded that participating in the march is a sign of respect for those who have served in defence of our country and they are asked to march appropriately.

This is a great way to support our school community and an honour for our students. We hope that many students will support this special event.
