(Year 5&6)
So why would you join Robotics Club at Albany Hills? Here is a plethora of reasons to become involved in this extracurricular club. Robotics at Albany Hills offers students in Years 5 and 6 the opportunity to challenge their minds and be innovators in technology.
After hours workshops offer students hands on workshops where participants are encouraged to think for themselves and to collaborate with one another. The club aims to allow students to gain confidence in solving problems, exchange ideas with others and present their work in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Lego MINDSTORMS NXT are the kits used in the sessions. The robot is an intelligent, computer-controlled Lego brick that lets the robot come alive and perform different operations. The software enables the students to program their robotic invention and upload programs to the NXT via USB in our air-conditioned computer laboratory. The intuitive drag and drop software allows participants to navigate their way through the palette of tutorials.
Robotics inspires students to make connections across many disciplines rather than learning topics in isolation. The group is supervised by teachers who actively encourage team work problem-solving and solution-building sessions where participants are developing life-long skills that can be applied in any field. So why not challenge yourself to be an innovator in technology?
