During the holidays Seth, Eddie and Jonah represented Queensland competing in the National Schools' Futsal Tournament. Their team also included some fantastic players from other schools and Eddie was team captain.
The tournament took place over three days. Unfortunately we were very nervous in the first game and lost 5-4. Then we drew 4-4 against NSW. The next day we kicked off to a better start and ended up winning all 3 of our games. On the following day we smashed it with winning scores of 10-0 and 8-0. We finished up second in the table and we qualified for the semi-finals.
The semi-final was a close match but we kept fighting and the final score was a 6-4 victory. We progressed to the final.
The final was a tough match but we kept fighting. All hope was lost when it was 5-1 to the opposition at half time. Our coach gave us some inspirational words at half time as he charged our batteries. Full of determination we worked hard and as a team. The goals kept flowing and when the final whistle blew we had won with a score of 7-5.
We went to Dreamworld for the presentation and received winners medals. Eddie was also named in the All Star 5 of the competition. We had a fantastic time.
Congratulations Seth, Eddie and Jonah!
